In 2007, we found the Emerald Mound site on the Natchez Parkway while we were on our way to Texas. At the time we had no idea of the history or significance of the site. But we learn. And this is where we started to learn about the Mississippian culture.
Emerald Mound is the second largest mound in North America. The largest is at Cahokia.
